For years, we were dog people, but one icy February night, a little black cat followed my husband to the car after work. The poor little winding around my hubby's legs meowing pitifully until my kindhearted hubby couldn't bear it and he picked him up and brought him home. It was only to be for a few nights, but we ended up taking him to the vet and naming him Max (Maxie) and we had him for 17 wonderful years. Hubby loved him so much he was unconsolable, and we found him another black cat named Midnight, but Midnight wasn't friendly like Max. She hid and hubby took her back to the shelter, but he went back looking for another cat. Midnight heard his voice and came to the front of the cage meowing until he put his hands down for her. She rubbed against them, and he brought her back home. lol She still hid all of the time, and we decided to get another cat. Our Tortie is named Dora (Dory), and she is mine. lol When hubby brought her home, she came right to me, and she's always been mine. lol It was just what Midnight needed to pull her out of her shell. She's definitely dad's girl and follows him everywhere like Max used to do. Midnight is still afraid of everyone else but us. We love cats, and they are so smart.
