If I Should Die Before My Dog {book giveaway}

If I Should Die Before My Dog by Joe and Cathy Connolly
I'm giving away an autographed copy of Joe and Cathy Connolly's bestselling book If I Should Die Before My Dog to one lucky reader of this blog.

About If I Should Die Before My Dog

If I Should Die Before My Dog is a check list for dog lovers who can no longer take care of their dog. The book will guide them through the process of telling their dog's life story for the pet's 'next guardian'. None of us can predict the future, but in the event situations arrive such as death, health impairment or left with no other choice but to give them up, this book will be there to assist your beloved pet with the transition from one home to another.

Giveaway details:

To enter to win, leave a comment telling me why you want to win this book. You can gain extra entries by sharing this giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Google+, a forum and/or your blog or by following this blog on GFC, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and/or Google+. Leave a comment for each action you took so I can count it accordingly (with a maximum of 12 possible entries). Contest is open worldwide and ends January 10. Good luck!

About the authors:

Joe and Cathy Connolly have spent a lifetime owning, training and caring for dogs. Cathy grew up with a Collie breeder, dog groomer and dog handler while attending many different dog shows and eventually went on to work with other breeders as she grew older. They live in northern Michigan with their three furry four-legged children: one large dog, one small dog and the entire family is supervised by one bossy calico cat.

My Vickie would love to be entered in the contst for the book. Since we have so many doggy guests and they are all ages all breeds. We are always faced with the painful time when our friends have to leave and My Vickie could use the book to help their families know what to do when the time approaches.

Hi, nice to meet ya!

We would love to be entered for this contest. Mommy said "we ain't getting any younger." We know what happens when a pet parent dies. That happened to us 5 years ago when Grandma died. Thank goodness my Mommy knew what to do with little Muffin (who was Grandmas dog). But we could only imagine what happens when someone DOESN'T know what to do. Tho we hate to think about it all, I think this is the perfect book to be written.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for a win!

Hugs,
Lily Belle

I would like to thank you for such a brilliant book giveaway, that i would love to have the oportunity of reading! As an owner of dogs and someone who has grown-up with them since a child i could not imagine a home without them, and yet a few years ago (due to a landlord's contract) we had to re-home our beloved dog after 9 years - it was heartbreaking.

Thank you once again x

My Dad passed away this past April and had asked beforehand if I would take his rescued Great Pyreness. I said absolutely. I have become so attached to her and cannot imagine her not here. We did a lot of practicing before she permanently moved in. We did this slowly during my Dad’s illness to help her transition and to allow time for my Dad to adjust to the idea. Besides the constant shedding I am in love!

Best luck to all!
First, a big THANK YOU to Vanessa and Avalon for hosting our giveway!
This is a very special book for all of the precious dogs that share our lives.
It gives you the chance to tell the "story" of your dogs life by giving them a "voice" in the event you can no longer care for them.
You simply fill in the answers to all the questions contained in the book.
If in the event your dog had to go to a rescue, the caregivers there would have all the information they would need to find the perfect forever home for your special friend.
It also makes a wonderful keepsake of the life you shared with your pet if they spent their entire life with you!
We are gearing up for another book tour with Beck Valley Book Tours, starting Jan.21st through Feb.10th, there you can enter to win 1 of 5 signed copies!
We hope you will follow the tour!
Again, best luck to all and thank you Vanessa and Avalon!!
PS: AVALON, there is "If I Should Die Before My Cat" coming soon :)

At 77 years of age and with 2 dogs of similar ages in dog years, the subject of what would happen if I died first has always worried me a lot. Unfortunately I lost one of my precious babies last week, but I still worry about the other dog. Also I would pass the book to my daughter who has two dogs.

I can sort of relate to what to do if you die before your dog. The two toy poodles we currently have now came from an owner who ended up with Alzheimer's. In essence, he went before his dogs.

Hi. I would like to win this book for my husband. He has a Labrador named Remi. While my husband was in the Air Force, he severely injured his leg and back. Recently due to the way he walks from the injury,,he developed severe back pain, and now has to have parts of his spine fused. He has limited mobility. Remi is hyper and hard on him physically. We may have to let Remi go, and I know that would be very difficult for my husband.
